"Can a photograph really capture what is going on in a persons mind?" Jillian Warian.
The answer is no, it can not that is why Wendy Ewald did a photo collection of people and got them to write down what was going on in their minds at that moment in time.

Text can change the way you look at an image and text can also completely change the meaning of the image. The image to the left is a portrait of a young boy, without the text that is all it is just a black and whit portrait. But with the writing we start to notice things; like the sadness in his eyes, the anxiety in his expression which we now know is cause by his worries of moving. Although he is looking at the camera it is almost like he is looking past it, its as though he is imaging his new city and home.

Laura Wilson took photos of homeless people but her photos weren't as strong as they could be, The people in the photos have amazing stories of how they ended up where they are in these photos. If she had included their stories the images them selves would have had so much more feeling and emotion to them.
